Performance

Madeline McNeill's performances are a complement of the arts and embodied cognition. Her salon style events bring people together to network and discuss ideas about what it means to be an integrated body-mind. Her events give seed to the future of embodied cognition in culture and society.

Bodies in Conversation

Like a magician, Madeline keeps many balls in the air. Her scope and breadth are dynamic and multi-modal, the message timely, given the issues facing women and their diminished reproductive choices. Biblical tones open the play: “In flesh that moves breath / We come together.” Sensuality reigns supreme. “May touch rouse your senses to speak freely,” she urges. Behind many of these lines is a large cast of silenced poets such as Walt Whitman, who wrote, “I Sing the Body Electric.” Harmonizing with Whitman, “We must come back to flesh” because “The mind is embodied.”
